Qufugotitsname(“windinghillock”)fromitstopography.DuringtheSpringandAutumnPeriod(770-476BC)itgraduallybecameacenterofChina’sculturalheritage,asitpreservedtheritesandmusicoftheearliesttimesoftheZhouDynasty.ItwasbymeansofthisrichstoreofculturalrelicsthatConfucius,thefounderofConfucianismshapedtheva luesystemandspiritualcreedoftheChinesepeople.Confucius,infact,wasanimportantrepresentativeofapivotalerainworldcivilization.
